chalkboard drawing photo post!

Firstly, I want to say thank you to all the folks who either donated to my DonorsChoose projects this past week, or those of you who just spread the word about them. My classroom’s had one project filled(!) and another well on its way thanks to the help and generosity of the readers here.

I promise I won’t bring up DC again for a good long while, so thanks much.

Chalkboard drawings this week: I tried to do more modern cartoons this week. I’m not as familiar with many of these, but most of my students were thrilled:

I love The Marvelous Misadventures of Flapjack and Chowder. I like the way that they’re cartoons that are actually somewhat cartoony. When I was growing up, a lot of the cartoons seemed to resent the fact that they were cartoons. Stuff like GI Joe and Transformers and He-Man were sort of boring to look at (although I loved them).

Johnny Test, however… I think it’s horrible and cheap looking. Still, this was by FAR the most popular drawing I did this week so go figure.
