chalkboard drawings: the “let’s throw it at the wall and see what sticks” edition

The 9th graders are in the thick of Romeo & Juliet right now. On Monday, we first encountered Friar Lawrence, so I thought I’d draw a “traditional” friar.

…I get one of these a year, a stick figure drawing. The kids always exclaim over them, as though I’d just drawn something INCREDIBLE.

On Wednesday, the ninth graders were out of the classroom, picking classes for the 2012-13 school year. I left Mr. Stick Figure up on the board. When a few kids were in my classroom at the end of the day, they made some improvements.

I wore a button-up cardigan on Tuesday and one of my students said I looked like an owl. I didn’t really see it, but it gave me the idea for this drawing.

…and we’re back to a sorta/kinda theme. On Friday, I introduced the big Romeo & Juliet project for the second half of the play. I did a bunch of comics about that last year.
