I’ve loved The Marx Brothers since I was a teenager. I discovered them through Dave Sim’s Cerebus comics, where Sim appropriated Groucho for his Lord Julius character. After that, it was a short jump to devouring all of the Marx Brothers’ movies. I will admit, however… the reason this song is such a hit in our house is because of the version of it performed by Kermit on The Muppet Show:

Jim Henson loved the song so much, his friends performed it at his funeral.

Of course, the best performance of Lydia the Tattooed Lady would inarguably be this one:
