I wanted to do some kind of comic to balance the last two (TOTALLY, 100% TRUE) strips. I think it’s important to remember that there are fantastic administrators out there, doing everything they can to make schools places that teachers and students can flourish. For the record, my school’s principal is, bar none, the best administrator I’ve ever worked for.

THIS IS A REAL SUGGESTION SOMEONE WHO GETS PAID WAY MORE THAN I DO MADE TO ME.
My student teacher did an indirect characterization lesson last year, which made me realize I’ve never done a comic about how I teach characterization.
It helps that most students have never seen The Royal Tenenbaums. I would assume if you have students who have seen that movie, it might skew the activity a bit.
Normally if I’m telling a little extended story, I’ll try to write them in such a way that I can parse them out over the course of the week. I couldn’t make that schedule fit for this.
The only other thing I want to say is this young person, with just a couple of kind words, reaffirmed my belief in being an educator right at a time when I was at my lowest in regards to this profession. I love being a teacher, but the bureaucracy is killing me. Thanks to this young man, wherever he is.
