Be interested to hear your thoughts on recent retellings of this story. I’m thinking of Emma Stone’s “Easy A” and Hillary Jordan’s “When She Woke.”
“When She Woke” is a great dystopian and feminist read–I’m thinking of the student who wants book recommendations–but is DEFINITELY an adult novel due to the themes and incidents that occur.
Stay tuned on Easy A – there will be a comic about it some point in the next few weeks.
I was wondering if you would use it! I figured you would use it as a jumping of point for some lecture. When I studied this work, the movie wasn’t out, so I was curious to see how teachers would use it in the classroom. Neato!
