Plug plug plug: If you like good comics like I do, do us all a favor and help cartoonist Phil McAndrew kickstart his comic project. I’m a huge fan of Phil’s- he’s got this wonderfully precise style that puts one in mind of Quentin Blake… and I’m planning on tossing some shekels his way once I get home from work. You should definitely do the same.

I thought this was cool, although I don’t remember who shared the link with me: A whole bunch of vintage book club mailers from when I was growing up. As you can see when you look at the first one, Calvin & Hobbes was often front and center on these things. I would guess about half of my Thrift Store Finds came from these book clubs.

I did a couple of comics about Animal Farm last year, including one of my favorites out of all the strips I did in the ’09-’10 school year. I just really like that one a lot!

Also (and I’m POSITIVE no one out there is worried about this, but indulge me for a second) for the sake of clarity: I’m counting the three merit pay strips as three separate “days”.
