  1. I let my 20 month old play with a keyboard connected to nothing. I figure it’s good for familiarization. For a classroom of teenagers? Not so much.

  2. Not that it solves the equipment problem (i.e. lack of computers), but if/when you get them, there is a free typing program online at typing.com that allows you to create and track classes. I think you can type without signing up, too. There are some “Advanced” lessons if you buy a premium account, but there is plenty worthwhile in the free bits.
